Non-Independent (Supervised) Therapist
JOB DESCRIPTION
Waves Behavioral Health is looking to hire a Non-Independent (Supervised)
Therapist who currently possesses their LMHC or LMSW. Only qualified licensed
candidates will be contacted for interviews. Please indicate on your resume the level
of licensure achieved. All licenses must be current and active to provide services in
New Mexico.
Waves provides clinical treatment to children, adults, and families through clinical
modalities that are evidence based and trauma informed.
The clinician must have a working knowledge of basic computer functions and be
capable of developing competency with an Electronic Health Record System (EHR).
The clinician must also have a background in or currently working with children,
adults, and families.
The therapist will be subject to the general supervision, advice, and direction of their
supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to
perform the essential functions.
- Provides clinical treatment to children and adults using individual, group and
family therapy. - Perform a thorough assessment of the client and/or the family using various
clinical assessment instruments. - Therapist will create a full and complete treatment plan including long-term
and short-term measurable goals for the client to include diagnosis evidenced
based treatment modality to be utilized, plan and discharge criteria. This will
be presented to the client after the assessment sessions and the client will
sign the presented treatment plan for records. The treatment plan will be re-
evaluated every three months and adjusted as necessary. - Create and maintain accurate and current documentation of each session
through the electronic health records system. - Therapists are responsible for maintaining an accurate and full calendar with
correct billing session codes for each session. Calendars are to be updated
reflecting appointments scheduled 6 weeks out. - Attend all mandatory staffing’s.

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS
- The therapist will meet with their supervisor once weekly for individual
supervision. They will be provided with the supervision necessary as required
by the State of New Mexico for them to further the education.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this position, the therapist will work with children,
adults and/or families that may require frequent movement from a seated position to
standing and interactive play that can be conducted on the floor or with various toys
and tools to provide treatment.
Therapist may experience clients with high emotional needs that express quickly and
be required to help guide self-regulation and decrease heightened activity.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met
by a clinical therapist to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time licensed position. Expected work hours are 30+ billable sessions
per week to include completed notes.
No travel is expected for this position.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling, related program.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Two years’ experience providing direct services to children and families.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
- State license or registration to meet the requirements of a qualified mental
health professional. - Licensed therapist must have received their LMHC or LMSW designated by
the State of New Mexico. - Therapist will abide by all NCC and NASW ethical mandates and codes.
- Therapist is a mandated reporter and will abide by the State of New Mexico
mandates on reporting child abuse, neglect or maltreatment. - Abide by Waves Behavioral Health policy for suicide, homicide and risky
behavior reporting and intervention. - All therapists must agree to a basic background check and receive a clear
background check to work with the children and families.

New Mexico.
Waves provides clinical treatment to children, adults, and families through clinical
modalities that are evidence based and trauma informed.
The clinician must have a working knowledge of basic computer functions and be

Waves Behavioral Health is looking to hire a part-time Community Support Worker.
The Community Support Worker coordinates and provides services and resources to
the individuals and families necessary to promote recovery, rehabilitation, and
resiliency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Address goals in areas such as parenting skills, training, and behavior
management, - Assist with independent living.

- Community Support Workers will create a full and complete treatment plan

This is a part-time position. Expected work hours are 20+ billable sessions per week
to include completed notes.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Must be at least 18 years old; and
- High School graduate or have a General Education development (GED)
- Or associate degree in approved curriculum in behavioral health, or related
field - Or three years of working experience in behavioral health working with the
target population; or shall be certified as a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS)
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in human services field from an accredited university and
one (1) year relevant experience working with the target population

- Valid NM Driver’s License and clean driving record
